How To Buy A High Efficiency Gas Furnace

A high efficiency natural gas, forced air furnace will cut your fuel bill away down.
When you go looking for a high efficiency natural gas furnace for your home you will find that there are three types of high efficiency natural

gas furnaces.

1.The Basic High Efficiency furnace. This type of furnace has one stage heating in combination with a multi speed blower motor. Furnaces of

this type are made by the  American Standard Co. and Goodman and these are top quality very well made furnaces. Their efficiency rating is

92%.  This means that 92% of the heat generated by burning gas goes to heat the home. These are the lowest cost high efficiency furnaces

and a good choice if your budget is tight.

2. Furnaces with two stage heating. This allows more even heating of all the rooms in your house. The cost of this type of high efficiency

furnace is a little higher than the one stage heating furnace .The extra cost is well worthwhile for the even heat distribution in the home along

with high efficiency.

3. Variable speed blower high efficiency furnaces have two or more stages of heating, and most importantly they have a variable speed

blower motor usually known as a DC motor or ECM motor. These high efficiency furnaces are the top of the line and cost more but their

efficiency rating is about 97% which saves considerable fuel.In the course of a few years the saving in fuel cost will pay for the difference in

cost quite quickly. You will then save money every year

thereafter. This is particularly important when you realise that the price of natural gas is expected to rise sharply in future years so that the

savings in your fuel bill will be quite large.

These 97% efficiency furnaces are equipped with a very quiet and highly efficient variable speed electric motor which runs all the time instead

of  internittently. This keeps the home very evenly heated and the motor is so quiet that it cannot be heard. Government rebates are available

in some areas for installation of high efficiency gas furnaces and the top of the line furnace usually gets a higher rebate than the others. This

makes it an even better buy considering the fuel savings.
